Are you in a relationship with a man who just won’t commit to you? These types of relationships aren’t all bad if you are looking for a short-term thing but if you are looking for a long and lasting relationship, it’s time to move on. Your short-term goals are being met but your long-term goal of wanting a life partner isn’t. You’re probably shaking your head in agreement but there is still something holding you back. This is a very common problem. The short-term success, happiness, and satisfaction that you get from a non-committal man is why women stay in relationships with them even though it doesn’t feel right.
You have to tell yourself that your long-term goal is way more important to you and you have to take steps toward making it a reality. The first step is thinking about why this goal is so important to you. You want to be able to trust your man…You want to live together…You want to feel their unconditional love and support…You want to grow old together…Notice how much this list outweighs the list of reasons to stay with someone who just can’t give you these things. This will help you to move on and it will also help to reaffirm that you are on the right path if you ever think of rekindling things with him later on down the road.
A few years back, my friend was seeing a guy who did not want a commitment. Whenever they weren’t together, she was worried that he was with another girl. When they had discussions about not seeing other people, he was so against it that it made her feel really bad about herself. She felt like she wasn’t good enough. She thought that if she was worth it, he would see what a catch she is and he wouldn’t want to see anyone else. The truth is, it had nothing to do with her. This guy was just at a place in his life where he didn’t want a commitment. This is true for many single guys. They might want to settle down someday but not anytime soon. Other men enjoy this lifestyle and don’t ever want a commitment. Either way, these types of men just aren’t the one for you. My friend realized this and told the guy that she was looking for a long-term, committed relationship and they parted ways as friends. If your wants, needs, and goals aren’t in alignment, it’s not a bad thing. It just means that you aren’t meant to be together.

In the video above, EZ Dating Coach, Mike Goldstein, tells us a personal story about perseverance and how this trait can relate to your love life. He tells us to never give up in our quest for love because when it comes to finding it, there is a lid for every pot. It doesn’t matter what you look like or how much money you have or what obstacles you have to overcome…there is a special person out there that will love you just the way you are.
Mike’s story begins with a new job selling refinanced mortgages at HSBC. Just out of college, he was excited and confident and ready to sell, sell, sell. He was taken back when he didn’t make any sales his first month on the job. Month 2 rolled around and he still didn’t have any luck. Before he knew it, 5 months had passed without making any sales. The district manager told him that they were going to send him to a different branch but before he made the switch, the manager convinced him to keep him at that location. Mike was determined to make a sale and worked harder than ever before. He made a sale in his seventh month on the job but it was just shy of their goal. He could have felt defeated and given up right then and there but he kept at it. The next month, Mike not only met the goal… he crushed it! He earned almost 4 times the goal amount and he was in the top 20 salespeople in the country that month!
Mike succeeded because he refused to be brought down by self-doubt. Not only did he have an unlucky few months, Mike also had zero sales experience when he started. So how did he do it? He learned all that he could by listening to one of the top salespeople in the country. By spending time with her and asking her questions, Mike learned the skills that he would need to succeed at his job. He took all that he learned from her and made it his own and people gravitated toward him. That knowledge combined with his determination helped him to succeed.
These principles can completely apply to your love life! Love is just like anything else in life that is worth having. You have to educate yourself about it and work hard for it. When you want to graduate from school, you listen to your teachers, study hard, and take the tests. When you want a promotion at work, you ask your boss what you have to do to get promoted and you put in the time and effort. When you want to excel at a sport, you learn the rules of the game and you practice and train and push yourself to the limit. It’s all about educating yourself and working hard. The same goes for love! The first step is learning about how you can make yourself the best that you can be. Next, you have to think about what strategy you can put out there that will make men see how great it will be to date you. You also need to do what you can to try to understand men better. This will help you to communicate and connect with them.
The key is to take a look at yourself and see all of the wonderful things that you have to offer. Take steps to improve any areas that you are lacking in. If you aren’t great at self-assessing that’s ok. Mike is here to help! Schedule a strategy session with him today!
